Honored to join Detroit Mayor-elect Mary Sheffield’s Transition Team

On November 4, 2025, Detroit Michigan made HERstory! City Council President Mary Sheffield was elected as the first woman mayor in the city’s 324 year history.

On November 13, 2025, Mayor-elect Sheffield announced her Rise Higher Detroit transition team. I’m honored to have been selected to serve as co-chair of the Infrastructure, Sustainability & Climate Change Transition Committee with Nate Ford (Assoc. Vice President, HNTB) and Natalie King (President, Dunamis Clean Energy).

As co-chairs, we will help guide Rise Higher Detroit – Mayor-Elect Sheffield’s bold, community-centered transition initiative – by shaping early policy priorities that strengthen infrastructure, advance sustainability and support climate resilience across all neighborhoods. The committee will collaborate with residents, civic leaders and city departments to help develop the incoming administration’s 100-Day plan and First Term Action Plan.

In total, 18 policy committees will support the Rise Higher Detroit transition initiative which will meet regularly each week through the end of this year.
